1989 founding of “Dr. Fischer Management Beratung”, focusing on challenging management topics and executive coaching.
1990 we discover a strategic niche in the subject of leadership transition. The company grows rapidly, becoming renowned in the field.
1993 Peter Fischer’s book “Neu auf dem Chefsessel” is published in German (later English title: “The New Boss: How to Survive the First 100 Days”). Dr. Fischer Management Beratung has six consultants.
1996 we systematically expand our portfolio to include various offerings on the subject of change management. Hans Gärtner becomes a partner in the company, and Dr. Fischer Management Beratung is renamed fgi – Fischer Gärtner International.
1998 we take the first steps towards internationalization with partners in the United States and through development of the Transatlantic Bridge program.
2001 we expand our offerings in Japan. fgi acquires JAL Academy, one of Japan’s leading management institutes, as a partner.
2002 our market presentation is revised to focus on the core topic of leadership transition. fgi becomes an international service brand. In the same year, we develop an online tool that underscores our core competence – the standardization of discerning consulting services. Hans Gärtner leaves the company for personal reasons.
2003 the network of international consultants is expanded to encompass France and various Eastern European countries.
2005 we intensify our international work with numerous projects.
2006 a total of 20 senior consultants work for fgi.
